The SAG for Children – Solidarity Adoption Groups – were created with the aim of supporting groups of children of the Good Samaritan Mission in Mumbai through the participation of a group of donors who, according to their means, join in small solidarity communities.
SAG for Children is a method of distance support that takes the form of a periodic economic contribution with which each SAG provides for the support, education, and health care of a group of children of the Good Samaritan Mission:
- the group of girls from 5 to 10 years old
- the group of girls from 11 to 14 years old
- the group of girls over 14 years old
- the group of boys from 5 to 13 years old
- the group of boys over 13 years old
How it works
A SAG for Children is a form of distance supportwhich provides forhelp methods very similar to adoption, yet with the difference that the relationship is not one-to-one: a group of people adopts a group of children with the goal of supporting their growth and education in the context of the Good Samaritan Mission.
Groups of more than five people can create a SAG with the aim of supporting one of the above listed groups of children hosted by the Good Samaritan Mission on a monthly basis.
Every SAG is given a name, and each member agrees to donate a monthly fee starting from a minimum of 20,00 € (i.e. the price of a pizza, a drink, a coffee, and a bitter, which is the equivalent of about eight hot meals on missionin Mumbai).

Together with the children all year round
Frame Project is determined to transform the adoption experience into a real commitment. That’s why we have thought about:
- a constant update of the website with news from the Good Samaritan Mission;
- a bimonthly newsletter with photographs and news of the adopted children;
- providing each SAG with a contact numberin order to be able to contact Peter Paul Raj and, possibly, organise video calls to say hello to the children;
- providing every SAG memberwith the opportunity to organise a solidarity trip to Mumbai in order to get to know the reality of the Good Samaritan Mission in person.
Why a SAG
SAG for Children is a new approach based on two concepts that are fundamental to us:
1. the sharing of solidarity actions
2. the extended support
These are basic concepts of volunteering since they stem from the idea that it is not the individual, but rather the community as a whole that is responsiblefor taking care of others.
Albeit adopting one-to-one distance support methods, Frame Project supports the creation of SAG for Children in the belief that the experience of support becomes even more significant if shared, together with the idea that a group of children feels equally important in their exclusive relationship with a collective of people.
The advantages of SAG for Children
Creating a SAG for Children has neither tax nor economic advantages whatsoever. For once, we would like to think that the advantage coincides with the possibility of sharing a path of solidarity, of building a bridge between people living in different cultural and social contexts through synergic efforts, of thinking of ourselves as a team of explorers in search of new and rewarding human relationships, which are not limited to just a picture and some news, but which become a collective story.
An advantage for the adopted children
A SAG does not discriminate between children. All children feel that they are equally cared of and build relationships with a group of people, who in turn can follow the growth of a small community in terms of education, life on mission, and interpersonal relationships.
